PE and Sport Premium

Sports premium grant

St Mary’s Fields has always given physical education and the promotion of healthy lifestyles a high profile across the school. This resulted in the school achieving the School Games Gold Mark Award for the 2023/2024 academic year!

The school welcomed the Government’s announcement back in March 2013 that all primary schools would be receiving a sum of money known as Sports Premium. This gave St Mary’s Fields an opportunity to develop further our partnership with a sports specialist and to continue to up skill staff giving them both the subject knowledge and confidence to deliver excellent Physical Education sessions.

St Mary’s Fields Academy has received £20,186 in sports premium for this academic year 2024-2025. Please click below to see how it will be spent and its impact.

Purpose of the Premium

This funding must be used to fund improvements to the provision of PE and sport, for the benefit of primary aged pupils.

The use of part of the PE and Sports Premium on our PE Coach to support the development of teaching and learning and sports participation is key to sustaining a legacy from this funding. The inspirational and guided work undertaken for our pupils by the coach in partnership with our staff has increased participation, skill levels and enjoyment
